Creating Joy

As soon as fall rolls around the holiday season starts building momentum and doesn’t let up until New Year’s Eve. That’s a lot of celebrating and a lot of stress! One event that helps me destress and feel the joy is planning a food drive for our neighborhood pantry. I know its small but it makes a difference.

When we first started talking about our idea back in 2015 we wanted to spread happiness and create something all ages could enjoy. So we hired horses with carriage rides and made it a block party. We partnered with our local food bank to Shine a Light on Hunger and give everyone a chance to help out. I think when you give people opportunities to participate they find real joy in the giving. We are making a difference, working together as a neighborhood to provide support to our community
